This is a lovely practical ruana! It is very soft, not at all "itchy," very drapey (because it is a knit), and it is quite warm compared to other wool ruanas I have. According to the information card that came with it, alpaca wool is softer than other wool, and it is inherently warmer. After using it for several occasions in the last month, I can say that both statements are true. I wear it with skinny jeans and boots for a "dressed up but not over dressed" look. I often receive compliments while wearing it. I am slim and somewhat petite (5'4"), and it falls to a perfect length on me (just below the knee for the longest draped corners). The section that rests on my arm hits me right at the wrist, so I am covered for warmth, but not "drowning" in the garment. Although I typically wear the red side out, I do like that it is reversible for another wearing option.This is such a beautiful high quality piece, and will be keeping me warm and cozy this Fall/Winter. I love that it’s fair trade, supporting artisans in Peru. This is gorgeous for wearing out, being cozy at home or keeping warm in the office. Very versatile and nice addition to wardrobe.It is a beautiful week made ruana...I have been looking, with no luck, for something like this , but with 2 button closure mid way down sleeve just for some form....it works fine...Luxuriously soft. Warmer without weight. It is knitted, not loosely woven like my other alpaca garment. Two sided ...dark red and dark gray...makes it versatile. I keep it at my office during the week for protection from chilly weather.Soooo soft and warm! So hard to believe this is wool because it’s soooo soft. Generous size and double sided which helps me stay warm when it’s windy. Can’t beat this price for 100% alpaca, fair trade item. Love it!Everything is perfect!...and she loves it. It keeps her warm while siting at her desk at work, without getting in the way.
